PDP Suspends Rivers Caretaker Chairman Over Alleged Alignment With Wike
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended Hon. Nname Robinson Ewor, Caretaker Committee (CTC) Chairman in Rivers State, over alleged alignment with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike.
The party stated that Ewor’s actions, which it described as capable of undermining the PDP in the state, warranted his suspension both as Caretaker Chairman and as a committee member.
Following the suspension, Chief Ogbam Ojimah, Secretary of the Rivers State CTC, has assumed the role of Acting Chairman.
Speaking after an emergency CTC meeting on Saturday, Ojimah said Ewor’s alignment with Wike who was recently expelled from the party effectively amounted to a voluntary resignation. He reaffirmed the committee’s loyalty to the Turaki-led PDP and emphasized that Wike has no authority to interfere in the party’s affairs.
The Secretary warned that any association with the expelled FCT Minister is unacceptable, stressing that the CTC in Rivers State fully dissociates itself from Ewor’s actions.
