Gunmen Attack Benue Community, Several Feared Dead

Several people are feared dead and many others injured following a violent attack by suspected gunmen on Agan community in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State.

Sources revealed that the attackers stormed the community around 6 p.m. on Thursday, firing indiscriminately and setting residential buildings on fire.

Agan, which is only a few minutes away from the heart of Makurdi, was thrown into chaos as terrified residents ran for safety amid the assault.

Witnesses said the attack continued for some time without any immediate response from security operatives, leaving the community vulnerable and defenceless.
