EFCC Summons Former Attorney-General Malami for Questioning
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has invited former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami for questioning.
Malami disclosed the development on Friday through a post on his Facebook page, confirming that he had received an official invitation from the commission. He said he intends to honour the summons without hesitation.
He wrote that he wanted his family and friends to know he had been called in to provide clarification on certain matters. He described himself as a law-abiding and patriotic citizen who is ready to cooperate fully with investigators.
Malami added that he remains committed to the values of honesty, integrity and accountability, which he said guided his years in public service. He also assured that he would keep Nigerians updated on further developments.
The EFCC has not yet revealed the specific issues for which he was invited.
