Adamawa Cancels Crossover Night Activities, sitting Security Concerns
The Adamawa State Government has announced the cancellation of all events planned for the crossover night on December 31, 2025, which were scheduled to usher in the new year at the Unity Fly-Over in Jimeta, Yola.
In a statement, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, said the decision followed credible intelligence reports highlighting potential security risks. He emphasized that the safety and security of residents remain the government’s top priority.
Wonosikou added that the state government would continue to collaborate with security agencies to maintain peace and stability. Citizens, particularly in Yola North and South LGAs, were urged to stay vigilant, avoid crowded areas, and report any suspicious activities. The government promised to provide further updates as the situation develops.
