ZLP’s Prince Onukwue Elected Abia IPAC Chairman
Prince Onukwue of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) has been elected Chairman of the Abia State chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) for the 2026–2028 term, following a closely contested election in Umuahia.
The election, held at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office, marked a leadership transition from the outgoing chairman, Nelson Uluocha of the Young Progressives Party (YPP). Seventeen of the 19 registered political party chairmen in Abia participated in the exercise, which was overseen by IPAC National representatives in collaboration with INEC officials.
Other officers elected include Mrs. Victoria Akabuike (Boot Party) as Deputy Chairman and Larry Charles (Action Peoples Party) as State Secretary, among others. The newly elected executives were immediately sworn in after the conclusion of voting.
In his acceptance speech, Onukwue thanked his fellow party chairmen for their trust and pledged that IPAC would support progressive policies while providing objective oversight and constructive criticism of the Abia State government.
