Trump Thanks Muslims at White House Iftar Dinner
Former U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday expressed gratitude to the Muslim community for their support during his successful re-election campaign.
Speaking at an iftar dinner hosted at the White House, Trump acknowledged the contributions of Muslim Americans, stating that they turned out in “record numbers” to support him in the 2024 presidential election.
“I want to extend a very special thanks to the hundreds of thousands of Muslim Americans who supported us in record numbers,” Trump said. “It was incredible. We started a little slow with you, but we came along. The Muslim community was there for us in November, and while I’m president, I will be there for you.”
The former president also emphasized his administration’s commitment to fulfilling promises made to the Muslim community and maintaining diplomatic efforts to promote lasting peace in the Middle East. He highlighted the Abraham Accords, describing them as a historic achievement once thought impossible, and assured that his team was working to build upon them.
Among the distinguished guests at the event were Saudi Arabia’s ambassador Reema Bandar Al-Saud, Morocco’s ambassador Youssef Amrani, Pakistani ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, and UAE ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba.
