Tinubu’s Aide Slams Peter Obi ADC Defection, Describes Party as ‘Structure of Criminality’
President Bola Tinubu’s Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has criticised what he described as a planned defection by a “nomadic politician” from the Labour Party to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), branding the opposition platform a “structure of criminality.”
According to Talk Nigeria News, Bwala made the remarks on Wednesday amid growing speculation that former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi is set to formally align with the ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Reacting via a post on X, the presidential aide accused the unnamed politician of serial party hopping, arguing that the latest move reflects what he called a lack of ideological consistency.
“Nomadic politicians joining a structure of criminality,” Bwala wrote. “The nomadic politician is continuing his wild goose chase by joining the structure of criminality. PDP–APGA–PDP–Labour–ADC. The wandering spirit will still end up as a second fiddle or campaign director-general.”
He further alleged that such a political trajectory was the result of poor counsel, adding a sharp personal jab at the politician’s advisers.
The comments have intensified political tensions as opposition realignments gather momentum, with the ADC increasingly positioned as a rallying point for coalition forces ahead of 2027. Analysts say the exchange underscores the growing ideological and rhetorical battles likely to define Nigeria’s political landscape in the coming months.
