NCoS Decorates 391 Promoted Officers in Kwara

The Nigerian Corrections Service (NCoS), Kwara State Command, has formally decorated 391 officers recently promoted across various ranks, marking the largest promotion exercise in the history of the command.

The decoration ceremony took place on Tuesday at the NCoS Command Headquarters, Flower Garden Area, Ilorin. The event also featured the commissioning of the command’s first official photo stand.

In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the command, CSC Philip Olumide Adegbulugbe, the promotions followed a nationwide exercise approved by the Service and covered both senior and junior cadres.

Those promoted include one Deputy Controller of Corrections, five Assistant Controllers, 14 Chief Superintendents, 25 Superintendents, 91 Deputy Superintendents, 74 Assistant Superintendents I, 54 Assistant Superintendents II, 13 Inspectors, 30 Chief Correctional Assistants, 44 Senior Correctional Assistants, and 40 Correctional Assistants I.

The ceremony was led by the Kwara State Controller of Corrections, Tolorunshagba Femi Emmanuel, and drew attendance from representatives of sister security agencies, heads of government parastatals, officers in charge of custodial centres, retired personnel, and family members of the promoted officers.

Addressing the officers, Emmanuel congratulated them on their advancement and urged them to uphold higher standards of professionalism, discipline, and dedication in the discharge of their duties. He stressed that the promotions come with greater responsibility and expectations in line with the core mandate of the Nigerian Corrections Service.

The Controller also expressed gratitude to the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Controller-General of Corrections, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, for their continued support, leadership, and commitment to staff welfare and institutional growth within the Service.
