I Remain Kano NNPP Chairman, Dungurawa Insists Amid Expulsion Claims

The Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, in Kano State, Hashimu Dungurawa, has reaffirmed that he remains the legitimate leader of the party in the state, dismissing claims of his purported expulsion by some ward executives.

Dungurawa spoke about 24 hours after executives of Gargari Ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area announced a resolution seeking to remove him from the party. He described the move as unconstitutional and lacking the authority to affect his position.

According to him, ward officials do not possess the powers to expel him, noting that he is also a member of the party’s National Executive Committee, a status he said cannot be overridden at the ward level.

The NNPP chairman said he was taken aback by the development and maintained that he had not been formally informed of any legitimate grounds for such action.

He warned that those presenting themselves as party leaders without due process would face legal consequences, adding that appropriate steps would be taken against individuals he accused of impersonation and unlawful claims to NNPP leadership in Kano State.
