Ebonyi Police Foil Kidnap Attempt, Rescue Victim
The Ebonyi State Police Command has successfully foiled a kidnap attempt in Abakaliki, the state capital.
According to the command’s spokesperson, Joshua Ukandu, operatives acted swiftly on a distress call received around 8:30 pm on March 30, 2025, regarding a kidnapping near Mile 50, Abakaliki.
Police teams immediately pursued the kidnappers, tracking an ash-colored Toyota Corolla with registration number SKA 828 AA, which was used in the abduction. The pursuit led them to Tina Nweze Street, Mile 50, where the criminals, under intense pressure, abandoned their victim and fled the scene.
Authorities also recovered the victim’s Toyota Sienna alongside the suspect’s vehicle. Both vehicles are now at the command headquarters for further investigation and identification by their owners.
