C’River Acting Governor Makes fresh Appointments, Creates Diaspora Commission
The Acting Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, has appointed six individuals to the newly established Cross River State Diaspora Commission.
The announcement was made on Thursday in a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nsa Gill. The Commission aims to engage Cross Riverians living abroad in the state’s policies and development initiatives.
According to the statement, the appointees include:
- Otu Esu Okor – Chairman
- Elizabeth Greene – Secretary
- Mr. Eyobong Ita – Member
- Mr. Douglas Agbe – Member
- Dr. Mrs. Maggie Inde – Member
- Mrs. Emily Madueke – Member
The Commission’s primary goal is to leverage the expertise and resources of Cross Riverians in the diaspora to enhance the state’s socio-economic, cultural, and political development.
The full scope of the Commission’s responsibilities will be defined by the State Planning Commission. In the meantime, members have been directed to report to the Secretary to the State Government’s office for further documentation and guidance.
