Chelle Maintains Unchanged Lineup for Crucial World Cup Qualifier Against Zimbabwe
Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has named an unchanged starting XI for Nigeria’s crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe in Uyo. This decision follows the team’s performance against Rwanda last Friday, where Victor Osimhen’s brace revived Nigeria’s qualification hopes.
Chelle has once again placed his trust in the attacking quartet of Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Moses Simon, and Samuel Chukwueze. In midfield, Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi retain their spots, while Stanley Nwabali continues as the team’s first-choice goalkeeper. The defensive lineup remains unchanged, with Ola Aina, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Calvin Bassey, and captain William Troost-Ekong forming the backline.
The match is set to kick off at 5 PM WAT, with the Super Eagles aiming for another strong performance to boost their chances of securing a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
