US Lawmaker Riley Moore Calls for Jail Term Over DoJ Cover-Up in School Shooting

United States Congressman Riley Moore has demanded immediate jail terms for Department of Justice officials accused of covering up the manifesto of the Nashville Covenant School shooter.

Moore made the demand in a post on his verified X account on Tuesday, describing the alleged suppression of the document as an act that enabled what he called an anti-Christian terrorist attack. According to the lawmaker, the manifesto reportedly revealed explicit hatred toward white people and Christians.

He criticised the administration of former President Joe Biden, accusing the Justice Department of deliberately withholding the manifesto from the public for nearly two years. Moore argued that the decision to suppress the information distorted public understanding of the motives behind the 2023 mass shooting at The Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee.

The attack was carried out by a transgender individual who killed six people—three children and three adults—before being neutralised by police.

Describing the alleged cover-up as unacceptable, Moore wrote that those responsible should face severe legal consequences, insisting that the suppression was intended to prevent the public from drawing conclusions about what he termed a broader pattern of violence.
