Taraba Police Restates Commitment to Merit-Driven Promotions

The Taraba State Police Command has reiterated its dedication to merit-based promotions and sustained professional development for officers, aligning with the broader objectives of the Nigeria Police Force.

The assurance was delivered on Tuesday in Jalingo during the decoration ceremony of officers recently elevated from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin, said the promotions underscore the leadership’s determination to motivate personnel and strengthen effective policing and service delivery. Represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Nandiyak Tissing, the commissioner congratulated the newly promoted officers, describing their advancement as a testament to their dedication, discipline, and commitment to duty.

She stressed that elevation in rank carries increased responsibility, urging the officers to uphold professionalism, integrity, and exemplary leadership in the discharge of their duties.

According to her, the exercise is consistent with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to reinforce institutional capacity and maintain high standards within the Force.

The officers were further encouraged to adhere to the core values of the Police, respect the rule of law, and remain resolute in safeguarding lives and property while sustaining peace and security across Taraba State.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, ASP Seth Edom expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police for his leadership and commitment to officers’ welfare. He also commended the Police Service Commission for approving the promotions and pledged that the officers would justify the confidence reposed in them through renewed dedication, professionalism, and loyalty to duty.
