Ekiti Announce resumption Date for Private, Public Schools
The Ekiti State Government has announced that all public and private primary and secondary schools across the state will resume on Monday for the second term of the 2025/2026 academic session.
Schools in the state had been on break since December after the conclusion of the first term to allow for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Commissioner for Education, Dr Olabimpe Aderiye, confirmed the resumption date, noting that it aligns with the approved academic calendar for the current school year.
She stated that all teachers and students are expected to return to school as scheduled, adding that teaching and learning activities will begin immediately upon resumption.
According to the commissioner, the new term signals the start of a fresh phase in the academic year, during which students will participate in both academic and extracurricular programmes aimed at improving learning outcomes.
Dr Aderiye assured parents and stakeholders that the state government remains committed to providing the necessary guidance, policies and regulatory framework to ensure high standards and improved performance in schools across Ekiti.
She reiterated that the government will continue to support the education sector to guarantee a productive and successful academic term for both learners and educators.
