AFCON 2025: Super Eagles Draw Mozambique in Round of 16
Nigeria’s Super Eagles will take on Mozambique in the Round of 16 at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, following the conclusion of Group F matches on Wednesday night.
Mozambique secured qualification for the knockout stage despite surrendering a first-half advantage to lose 2–1 against Cameroon. The result was enough to see them finish third in the group, behind group leaders Ivory Coast and the Indomitable Lions.
Nigeria’s passage to the knockout phase had already been sealed after victories in their opening two group matches. However, the Super Eagles went on to finish as Group C winners after a convincing 3–1 win over Uganda on Tuesday.
The Round of 16 encounter will see Eric Chelle’s side face Mozambique on Tuesday in Fez, Morocco, with a place in the quarter-finals at stake. Kick-off is scheduled for 8:00 pm WAT.
