The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has doubled the bonus for Super Eagles players for reaching the Round of 16 at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, DAILY POST reports. Each player is now set to receive $30,000, up from the initial $15,000 proposed by the federation, which was rejected by the team.

According to SCORENigeria, the revised bonus surpasses the amount earned by the squad at the last AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire. The NFF and players have also agreed on performance bonuses for subsequent rounds of the tournament.

The Super Eagles secured their place in the knockout stage following a tense 3-2 victory over Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles last Saturday. Eric Chelle’s side will face the Uganda Cranes in their final group match on Tuesday.
