Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has achieved yet another milestone as Guinness World Records confirmed her as the new record holder for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.

The global record body announced on its official X account that Hilda Baci, in partnership with Gino, prepared a massive 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of jollof rice at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, on September 12, 2025.

The culinary feat was part of the ‘Gino World Jollof Festival’, a grand food event that attracted thousands of people and generated massive attention both in Nigeria and abroad.

Hilda Baci, who first gained international recognition in 2023 when she set the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, has now further solidified her place as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated chefs.

The Lagos festival drew a host of celebrities and dignitaries, including Funke Akindele, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye, Pastor Idowu, and Bamidele Abiodun, wife of the Ogun State Governor, all of whom came out to witness and celebrate the history-making event.

Guinness World Records shared the news with the caption:
“New record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice – 8,780 kg achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”
