PDP Crisis Deepens as Former Spokesman Slams Acting Chairman for consulting INEC
The crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has deepened following sharp criticism by former National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, against the party’s Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum.
Ologbondiyan strongly condemned Damagum’s recent remarks targeting the current National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba. He described Damagum’s actions as unacceptable and a direct challenge to the authority of the party’s highest decision-making bodies, the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the National Working Committee (NWC). He also said the comments were disrespectful to party members.
The PDP, once Nigeria’s leading political party, has struggled with internal divisions since losing power in 2015. The party has faced ongoing leadership battles, high-profile defections, and unresolved congress disputes in key regions, all of which have continued to weaken its structure nationwide.
