Tinubu Orders Manhunt as Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso React to Uromi Killings

President Bola Tinubu has condemned the brutal lynching of traveling hunters by local vigilantes in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State. The President directed security agencies to conduct a swift and thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Expressing shock over the killings, Tinubu extended condolences to the victims’ families, emphasizing that jungle justice has no place in Nigeria. He reassured Nigerians that criminals would not be allowed to take innocent lives without facing consequences.
The President also commended Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo and Uromi community leaders for their prompt intervention to prevent further escalation of tensions.
Atiku Reacts
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar expressed deep sorrow over the killings, calling for a transparent and impartial investigation. He emphasized the need for swift action to prevent the recurrence of jungle justice, urging authorities to ensure justice is served.

Labour Party’s Peter Obi described the incident as a tragic reflection of the nation’s decaying security situation. He reiterated that every Nigerian has the right to move freely and condemned extrajudicial measures. Obi called for a balanced approach to addressing security concerns while ensuring justice for all victims, including Edo indigenes.
Kwankwaso Reacts
Former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso decried the killings, labeling them as a brutal act of jungle justice. He urged authorities to launch a full-scale investigation and bring those responsible to book. Kwankwaso also extended condolences to the victims’ families and the affected states.
The incident has reignited calls for enhanced security measures and public awareness to prevent mob violence and uphold the rule of law.
