Bandits Abduct Scores in Zamfara Community
Gunmen led by a notorious bandit kingpin, Bakin Malam, have attacked Makera community in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, kidnapping an unspecified number of residents.
The assailants also carted away valuables, including eight motorcycles and food supplies. Intelligence sources revealed that the attack, which took place in the early hours of Wednesday, March 26, was likely a reprisal following the recent arrest and elimination of another bandit leader, Hassan Dantawaye, also known as “Na’bamamu,” by troops of Operation Fansan Yamma (OPFY).
Efforts to get comments from the State Police Command spokesman, ASP Yazid Abubakar, were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
