You can’t Buy Character that you lack – Wike’s Aide Slams Atiku Over Integrity Claims

Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has criticized former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, stating that it is too late for him to develop character and integrity.
Olayinka was responding to a statement from the Atiku Media Office, which claimed that Atiku rejected the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) committee’s decision on his 2023 vice-presidential candidate due to concerns over character.
In a statement, Olayinka accused Atiku of lacking integrity, recalling that former President Olusegun Obasanjo once described him as a “blatant and shameless liar” in his book My Watch. He stated that Atiku’s rejection of the committee’s recommendation, despite earlier promises to abide by it, further exposed his inconsistency.
Olayinka also noted that Rivers State Minister Nyesom Wike initially rejected Atiku’s offer to be his running mate due to concerns over his character but later reconsidered after persuasion. He emphasized that Wike remains transparent and unwavering in his political stance, unlike Atiku, whom he accused of constantly deleting controversial statements.
He urged Atiku to focus on truthfulness and reliability instead of pursuing the presidency at all costs.
