14 Killed, two injured in fresh attack by Suspected Boko Haram terrorists in Adamawa Communities
Residents of Zah and Mubang communities in Yadul, Garaha District, Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State, are in mourning after a deadly attack by suspected Boko Haram fighters left at least 14 people dead and two others injured.

The assailants reportedly stormed the villages around 6:16 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025, unleashing violence that claimed the lives of both elders and youths.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers also set food stores and other properties ablaze, leaving the communities counting their dead by Tuesday morning and lamenting a tragedy that has become a recurring nightmare.
“This is not the first attack, not even the second. It has been persistent—year after year—without those responsible being brought to justice,” a community member said. Zah and Mubang are among several villages in Yadul, Garaha District, including Dabna, Kopre, Kultha, and Kinging, that have repeatedly suffered similar assaults.

Residents say the largely Christian farming settlements have been left vulnerable, forcing many to live as displaced persons within their own land. The renewed assault has reignited outrage over what locals describe as the government’s failure to protect lives and property.
“For how long will we continue as refugees in our own communities? Is the government not ashamed of its inability to secure its citizens?” one resident asked.
The attacks are also undermining livelihoods, as the affected communities are primarily farming settlements whose produce supports the local population and beyond. Locals argue that relocating farmers to under-supported IDP camps cannot solve a crisis that continues to threaten food security and dignity.
Community leaders are calling for urgent reforms in security operations, stressing that relief handouts cannot replace protection. “Security of lives and property is non-negotiable. Strengthen security, close the loopholes, and end these attacks,” a resident said.
As mourning continues, residents of Yadul, Garaha District are appealing to the Nigerian government to intervene decisively. “Enough is enough. Let the world know what our communities are going through,” they urged.
