2027: C’River APC Rules Out Automatic Tickets for National Lawmakers

The Cross River State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has ruled out automatic tickets for serving National Assembly and state lawmakers in the 2027 general elections. However, the party granted automatic tickets to Governor Bassey Otu and his deputy, Dr. Peter Odey.
The decision was reached during the party’s State Executive Council (SEC) meeting in Calabar on Tuesday, chaired by APC State Chairman Alphonsus Ogar.
At the meeting, the party praised Governor Otu for his developmental strides and commended National Assembly members for their support of President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State.
Ogar emphasized the party’s preparedness for the 2027 elections and urged all elected representatives, from councilors to senators, as well as aspirants for upcoming elections, to return to their constituents for support.
“This is because there is no automatic ticket for anyone except for the governor and his deputy,” he stated.
