PDP Supporters in Plateau Burn Billboards Over Insufficient Ramadan Palliatives

Supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lamba Ward, Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State, staged a protest on Wednesday, setting fire to party billboards and palliative packages in anger over what they described as inadequate Ramadan relief.
The demonstrators, chanting slogans such as “We don’t want this! Take the palliative to the chairman!” marched through the streets, tearing down posters and setting them ablaze. They accused the local government chairman of hoarding essential supplies meant for party members and warned that the PDP could lose their support in the 2027 elections if their concerns were not addressed.
One of the protesters, Haladu Mus, expressed frustration over the quantity of aid provided, stating, “Look at this tiny amount of rice and maize they’ve given us—just two measures of rice and one measure of maize for Ja’oji polling unit. Runji polling unit got the same meager amount for Ramadan.”
Another resident, Dayyabu Ibrahim, described the relief as grossly insufficient and warned that the party leadership would face the consequences at the next election.
