Bandit Kingpin Dan Mudale, Police Officer, Six Others Killed in Zamfara

Operatives of the Zamfara State Police Command successfully repelled an attack by armed bandits in Keta town, Tsafe Local Government Area, on Thursday, neutralizing several criminals, including the notorious bandit kingpin, Dan Mudale.
The spokesperson of the command, DSP Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the development in a statement issued in Gusau.
According to him, a distress call was received at about 15:40 hours from a good Samaritan, alerting authorities that heavily armed bandits had stormed Keta town with the intent to unleash terror.
In response, a joint security team comprising the Police Mobile Force, Counter-Terrorism Unit, local hunters, and Community Protection Guards mobilized to confront the attackers.
“A fierce gun battle ensued, leading to the neutralization of a large number of bandits, including Dan Mudale, a wanted kingpin responsible for terrorizing Tsafe and its surrounding areas,” Abubakar stated.
However, the operation also recorded casualties, with one police officer, four members of the Community Protection Guard, and two hunters losing their lives. Two additional hunters sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre in Gusau.
The police reassured residents of their commitment to restoring peace in the state and urged the public to report any suspicious activities to security agencies for swift action.
