Man arrested in Ekiti for Allegedly Killing Mother, Sister

The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Victor Lorjaal for allegedly murdering his mother and elder sister at Aba Ile Camp in Itaji-Ekiti, Oye Local Government Area.
The tragic incident occurred on March 25, 2025, at about 7:10 a.m., when the suspect allegedly attacked his mother, Mrs. Victoria Lorjaal, and his sister, Brenda Lorjaal, with a machete while they were working on the farm.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sunday Abutu, one of the deceased’s children, who witnessed the attack, reported the incident to the police. The witness stated that he and Victor had been working together on the farm when the suspect suddenly walked away to where their mother and sister were. Moments later, he heard their mother’s distress calls, but by the time he arrived, the suspect had already fled the scene, leaving both victims in a pool of blood.
The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident and extended condolences to the bereaved family. He confirmed that the suspect will face legal action as soon as the investigation is completed.
