In a major boost for small businesses, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has kept his promise to support entrepreneurs by equipping local food processor Mrs. Ifeoma Itoro with a fully furnished factory, essential machinery, and N2 million in working capital.
This intervention follows a pledge made by the Governor on March 11, 2025, during a business empowerment event at Uyo Township Stadium, where over 2,000 entrepreneurs received equipment and financial support. At the event, Mrs. Itoro personally appealed to the Governor for assistance in expanding her food processing business.
Moved by her request, Governor Eno immediately instructed the Commissioner of Trade and Investment, Dr. Ubong Inyang, to facilitate the setup of her business.
Just two weeks later, on March 25, 2025, Mrs. Itoro received the promised support, including a fully equipped factory designed to enhance her production capacity. The Governor also provided her with N2 million as working capital, ensuring financial stability for her business growth.
Expressing deep gratitude, Mrs. Itoro thanked the Governor for his generosity and prayed for continued blessings upon him and his administration.
The brief presentation ceremony was attended by key government officials, including the Commissioner of Trade and Investment, Dr. Ubong Inyang, and the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Mrs. Emem Ibanga, highlighting the state government’s commitment to empowering small-scale entrepreneurs.
