Ukraine confirms Massive Russian Drone and Missile Attack

Ukraine has reported that Russia launched a large-scale overnight assault involving 139 drones and an Iskander-M ballistic missile. The Ukrainian Air Force, in a statement on Telegram, confirmed that it successfully intercepted 78 drones, while 34 others failed to reach their intended targets. However, the fate of the remaining 27 drones and the ballistic missile was not disclosed.
The attack coincided with high-level discussions in Saudi Arabia between Russian and U.S. officials regarding a potential ceasefire. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reiterated that Russia remains the primary obstacle to ending the conflict, stating that the war continues to inflict suffering not only on Ukrainians but also on Russia and the broader international community.
Zelenskyy emphasized the need for strong and decisive actions to pressure Russia into peace negotiations. He affirmed Ukraine’s commitment to supporting diplomatic efforts that could lead to a resolution of the war while urging the international community to take a firm stance against ongoing hostilities.
