Police Arrest Four linked to Airlines’ Bank Accounts hack

Lagos State Police Command has arrested four individuals suspected of hacking into the bank accounts of two airline operators and diverting funds lodged in a commercial bank. The suspects allegedly withdrew £138,924, equivalent to ₦277,848,000, from the accounts before transferring the funds to another domiciliary account and eventually cashing out the money.
According to the Lagos Commissioner of Police, Jimoh Moshood, who was represented by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the case was reported by a former staff member of a new-generation bank, who noticed the unauthorized withdrawal. The police immediately launched an investigation, leading to the arrest of the alleged mastermind, 27-year-old Shuaib Olaleye, in Ogun State on March 12. A Toyota Camry, believed to be a proceed of the crime, was recovered from his hideout.
Further operations led to the arrest of Oladunjoye Adegoke, 33, in Victoria Island on March 13, along with another Toyota Camry. Investigators also apprehended Austin Alfred, 38, a supervisor at the bank’s Trade Services Department, and a fourth suspect identified as Jude.
The police stated that the suspects transferred the stolen funds through multiple accounts before withdrawing the money. The case remains under investigation, with authorities working to trace the full extent of the fraudulent transactions.
