Ebonyi University Suspends Nwifuru Former Security Adviser Over Cultism Allegations

Alex Ekwueme University in Ebonyi State has indefinitely suspended Felix Okemini, a former security aide to Governor Francis Nwifuru, over alleged involvement in cult-related activities during his matriculation.
Okemini, who was recently dismissed by the governor for misconduct, was suspended just six days after enrolling as a Political Science student.
A letter dated March 20, which surfaced online, confirmed his indefinite suspension pending the outcome of an investigation by the university’s disciplinary committee.
The letter stated:
“The vice-chancellor has reviewed the report regarding allegations of cult-related behavior displayed on March 14, 2025, during the university’s matriculation ceremony. As a result, the vice-chancellor, on behalf of the Senate, has ordered your indefinite suspension pending further investigation.“
