US Senator Mike Lee Mourns passing of First Black Republican Congresswoman, Mia Love

United States Senator Mike Lee has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Mia Love, the first Black Republican congresswoman. Love passed away on Saturday after a prolonged battle with brain cancer, her family confirmed on Sunday night.
Reacting to the news, Senator Lee took to his verified X handle to offer prayers for Love’s family. He described her as a patriot and a trailblazer, emphasizing that the values she championed should continue to inspire the people of Utah and Americans as a whole.
“Please join me in praying for the Love family and remembering Mia Love as a friend, trailblazer, congresswoman, wife, mother, and patriot. May she rest in peace, and may the great things she worked for in this life inspire the people of Utah—and all Americans—to better serve each other, our families, and our country,” Lee wrote.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox also acknowledged her passing, describing her as a visionary leader who broke barriers and paved the way for many.
