Adamawa state Police have arrested a suspect, Umar Snu, in connection with the gruesome murder of 35-year-old Point of Sale (PoS) operator, Abbas Yuguda, in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area.

The incident occurred on Saturday, March 22, 2025, when Yuguda was attacked while returning home after closing his business for the day. A group of individuals, reportedly armed with offensive weapons, inflicted severe head injuries on him, leaving him in a pool of blood.

Upon receiving the distress call, operatives from Mayo-Belwa Divisional Police Headquarters arrived at the scene and rushed the victim to Cottage Hospital, Mayo-Belwa for urgent medical attention. However, Yuguda succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.

In the aftermath of the attack, an angry mob trailed the suspect, Umar Snu, subdued him, and attempted to take matters into their own hands before the arrival of police personnel.
