Elon Musk Accuses South African Party of Promoting ‘White Genocide’

United States billionaire Elon Musk has accused South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) of inciting violence against white farmers, following a controversial chant at a recent rally.

The accusation came after EFF leader Julius Malema led supporters in singing “Kill the Boer, Kill the Farmer” during a rally at Dlomo Dam, commemorating the Sharpeville Massacre.

Musk’s comments, posted on X (formerly Twitter), have sparked intense debate, drawing sharp responses from the EFF and reigniting discussions on land reform, racial tensions, and freedom of expression in South Africa.

The rally was held to mark the anniversary of the 1960 Sharpeville Massacre, a pivotal moment in the anti-apartheid struggle when police killed 69 Black protesters opposing apartheid pass laws.

However, Malema’s use of the apartheid-era struggle song prompted Musk to respond swiftly.

In a post on X, Musk stated:

“Very few people know that there is a major political party in South Africa that is actively promoting white genocide.
The video below was just yesterday—a whole arena chanting about killing white people.
A month ago, the South African government passed a law legalizing the seizure of property from white people without compensation.
Where is the outrage? Why is there no coverage by the legacy media?
Starlink can’t get a license to operate in South Africa simply because I’m not black. How is that right?”

Musk’s remarks have intensified global discussions about South Africa’s political climate and racial policies, with both criticism and support emerging from different quarters.
