Serious investors can’t ignore Nigeria – Osinbajo
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo said on Monday that serious minded investors cannot afford to ignore Nigeria.
He said Nigeria is open to free enterprise.
He spoke during the meeting of the Nigerian Initiative for Economic Development (NEID), at the old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Osinbajo said: “I like the idea of investors knowing that the reason why they are coming to Nigeria is not to help Nigeria. You will ultimately end up helping Nigeria, but the reason why you are coming here is because this is a good place to do business.”
Stressing that Nigeria is opening up itself for free enterprise, he urged investors to leverage on the opportunities being created in the country by establishing their businesses in Nigeria.
“The truth of the matter is that any country that opens itself to free enterprise, the way Nigeria is opening itself to free enterprise, will somehow find that it will work, and that is one of the critical things that we are bringing into the mix. Nigeria is a place that is waiting to happen and it will happen,” the acting President added.
He also said the Federal Government was working hard to ensure that the investment climate is profitable to entrepreneurs.
