Osinbajo: Acting President pays condolence visit to Governor Aregbesola
The governor has been in mourning since he lost his mother last week.
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo is currently in Ilesa visiting Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola, for the 8th day Fidau prayers for the governor's late mother, Alhaja Saratu Aregbesola.
This was revealed by Osinbajo's Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, who tweeted on his Twitter handle (@akandeoj), "AgP Osinbajo in Ilesa, Osun State for the 8th day Fidau prayers for Osun Gov's mum who passed. She was a dutiful mother, & community leader."
Alhaja Saratu, aka, Iya Olobi, died in the early hours of Tuesday, August 1, while the governor was away in Kebbi state for the Federal Government-Progressive Governors Forum Parley on Policy Synergy to ensure Development.
She was buried on the same day according to Islamic burial rites.
President Muhammadu Buhari's aide, Garba Shehu, revealed on Twitter that the president expressed his condolences to Aregbesola in a telephone conversation on Thursday, August 3.
A delegation led by former Lagos state governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and former Osun state governor, Chief Bisi Akande, also met with the governor on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at the Government House in Osogbo.
