Nigerian women have been urged to re-discover themselves and their purposes in life in order to become outstanding personalities in the society.
Chief Executive Officer, Inside Out Media Limited, Agatha Amata gave the charge at the maiden edition of Outstanding Women Awards (OWA) held at Triplecross High School, Ogba, Ikeja Lagos last weekend.
Speaking on how women can build their career, Amata advised them to focus on building themselves by discovering their God-given talent and ability. “The problem we have today is that everyone is chasing certificates, forgetting sabificate, that is what God has put inside of you. Until you discover your gift, you will struggle through life. Building your career has to do with knowledge. Know who you are so that people don’t define you; increase your worth and money will look for you,” she said.
Corroborating her view, Convener/CEO of Sail Edutainment Media, Mrs Success Abu-Idris, charged women to discover who they are before getting married, saying that would help them in achieving their dreams.
“These awards are specifically given to women whose involvement and commitment to community service, leadership, mentorship and development of people have been exceptional; and to women whose accomplishment in their field of interest has been notable,” she explained.
Also, the proprietress of Triplecross High School, Deaconess Olufunke Gesinde said that money should not be a woman’s main focus in life, stressing, “A life that has not touched other lives is useless.”

Peace Emmanuel, Senior Pastor of Kings International Church; Pastor Lilian Nnogo; CEO of Lilyian Couture; Adetutu Jasanya, Founder/CEO of De Avatar Communications; Deaconness Olufunke Gesinde, proprietress of Triplecross High School; and Ruth Sonny Bello, gospel singer and philanthropist.
